Wisconsin Citizens for Election Protection

Welcome to Wisconsin Citizens for Election Protection!

WCEP is a non-partisan group working to protect election integrity and to restore confidence in Wisconsin’s elections.  WCEP encourages the use of paper ballots that are publicly hand-counted on election night. We also encourage citizens to verify the integrity of Wisconsin elections by observing  election-night poll closings. Our goal is to establish a network of trained volunteers throughout the state who will have the knowledge, the determination and the skills to help to ensure fair, honest elections.

WCEP’s focus is on education.   You are welcome to join our active Facebook group, WI Citizens for Election Protection, where you will find information and discussions about many aspects of our elections.

In June, 2011, we sent letters to all of the municipal clerks in the recent recall districts, encouraging the hand-count of paper ballots, and informing them of ways in which they could make our elections safer.  We trained and placed volunteers in many of the 2011 Senate recall polling places, to observe and document the post-election closing procedures, the ballot security and the chain-of-custody of election materials.  We would like to share our training state-wide, so all citizens will understand their rights and responsibilities as voters, and so election officials understand that improving their procedures can help to ensure security as well as rebuild the public confidence in the election process.

Whether you can give a few hours, a few weeks, or are ready to commit your every waking hour to election protection, please join us in our efforts to support verifiable, transparent and accurate elections.

Visit our VOLUNTEER CENTER to learn more and to sign up.  We will inform you of upcoming training opportunities and tell you about projects of which you can be a part.

Please drop us an email with any questions or comments.  Thank you for your interest in protecting our elections, and ultimately our democracy!
